Tyson Fury

On 22nd of February Tyson Fury defeated Deontay Wilder. By dethroning Deontay Tyson Fury  has won the WBC heavyweight world champion  in seven rounds of the Las Vegas remath through a shut out beating with two knockdowns.

Tyson Luke Fury was born on 12 August, 1988 in Wythenshawe, United Kingdom.  Now he is holding the WBC and the Ring Magazine titles while he has been already holding IBC WBO and IBO. Thus he has become the second heavyweight after Muhammad Ali who held the Ring magazine title twice.

He was raised by his parents who belong to Ireland. His father James names him after the world boxing champion Mike Tyson.  When he was born three months premature and weight 450 grams.

Tyson Fury started boxing when he was 10 and left school when he was 11. In the initial years his father was his trainer and he remained his trainer until 2011. 

Tyson married to Paris in 2008 in Doncaster, South Yorkshire.  Both are practicing Catholic and were raised in a Gypsy family. He is popularly known the Gipsy King of the World.  

Earlier he was associated with the Holy Family Boxing Club in Belfast, Northern Ireland and later on switched to the Smithboro Clun in County Monaghan, republic of Ireland.  

Tyson’s professional boxing career began at the age of 20 on 6th December 2008 in Nottingham.  It was the fight against Hungarian fighter BELA Gyongyosi whom he defeated in first round.

Fury fought John McDermott, on 11 September 2009 for the English heavyweight title and won this competition by a point decision.

He fought Dereck Chisora for the British Commonwealth heavyweight titles at Wemble Arena in London on 23 July 2011. Amazing in thrilling fight Fury defeated Dereck who was 5 years older than him.

Tyson fought Steve Cunningham, who was number 2 world ranking on 20 Februray, and defeated the latter on 20 February 2013.

Tyson Fury defeated Christian Hammer on 28 February 2015 in London by dominating the fight. With a short right hook he won the title.

Tyson fought Wladimir Klitschko on 28 November 2015 at Esprit Arena, Dusseldorf Nordrhein-Westfalen German. Tyson Fury defeated the undisputed boxer, Klitschko, who war reigning of nearly 10 years.

On 8 December 2015 International Boxing Federation stripped Tyson of its title as the contract for the fight against Klitschko included a rematch clause,

On 8 December 2015, the IBF stripped Fury of its title, as the contract for the fight against Klitschko included a rematch clause, preventing Fury from facing the IBF’s mandatory challenger  Vyacheslav Glazkov.   Thus Tyson Fury had held the IBF belt for only 10 days. Consequently, months of negotiation, the rematch was fixed on 8 April 2016, but unfortunately, on the same day Tyson Fury was charged by UK anti doping of taking prohibited substance, nandrolone.  

This was the downfall of this great warrior and his mental health deteriorated and he did not go a gym for months.  In fact, he was in utter depression. Ultimately on 13 October, the British Boxing Board of Control decided to suspend his boxing license and on 1 February 2018 he was stripped of his last remaining title, The Ring magazine’s heavyweight championship.

Tyson Fury reapplied for his boxing license and his requested was considered by BBBofC . He was told to submit his latest medical records.  He was reissued the boxing license. It was great win for Tony Fury.

After obtaining  the license he defeated  Sefer Seferi,Francesco Pianeta etc. in boxing championship.

On 27 November , 2019 it was announced by ESPN that Tyson Fury will fight  Deontay Wilder on 22 February 2020. It was a rematch of the match  held in 2018 which was resulted in a draw.

Tyson Fury’s win can be best described in  Wilder’s term “The best man won on the night”.  His comeback is a lesson and inspiration for the people to come.
